TangledTangled; ensnared-Tangled by ~Sketchifly
Caught-
I did not plan this folly,
to stumble into
Your web innocently waiting,
My heart distracted,
my mind full of different knots-
I did not plan, no-
will you feast on me now,
My Love?
Will these voices silence at last,
now that the predator
looms,
placing me in
its shadow
for safe-keeping?

Ground MeGround me, free me.Ground Me by ~Sketchifly
Take me, plant me in the earth-
But do it gently.
Touch me carefully with your ribbon fingers.
Show concern at my wilted petals and tattered leaves-
but see my potential.
Know I am not ugly, only worn.
Lift me and set me down where I please ,
gently.
Let me taste the sun
and feel my value permeate with its warmth.
Defend me
from the worms that try to devour me
from the roots I cannot see.
Let me drink from the springs of your generosity,
unlimited, unprejudiced.
By your gentility,
by your love,
in time
I will bloom.

The Orange Intimation From SilenceDo you dare to pry at the sloughing peel? The Orange Intimation From Silence by ~Sketchifly
The silence reeks like the withering orange,
plucked from the sill, gone from meaning to meal.
I dare you to find meaning within the porridge,
And make -no, force- that voice into reel.
It may seem stupid without courage,
And foolish to think when you feel,
the flesh giving, gone with rot and carnage.
You must have belief, even when your gut keels,
at the sight of brown and lilac garbage.
Your tongue could yet taste beyond brimming teal,
remnants, of a sweet, fiery lozenge -
But you must believe, you must break the seal!
Loosen your lips, and prepare to forage!
Respect YourselfMy friend shared this video to warn other artists about how she was taken advantage of, and I believe this is a very important message that every artist should hear.Respect Yourself by `yuumei
I've lost count of how many times someone, be it a big corporation or an individual, have asked me to illustrate for them for free. It will always go something like this "You draw this for us, and we will include your name in the credits. That's good publicity for you!" as if such a pathetic offer holds any merit.
There was one specific case where a guy wanted to use my drawing as a book cover but didn't want to pay. He said he might print up to 50,000 books, so that's like an amazing offer of 50,000 views for me right? Wrong. 50,000 is nothing. We live in the information revolution. Don't forget we have places like Deviantart, tumblr, and all those social networking sites. Sharing art, like sharing any information, has never been easier. You don't have to degrade yourself for some disrespectful publisher to get you art se
